Brevis Blitz Powers CSK to Dominant Win Over GT in Ahmedabad Thriller!

Guwahati, May 26, 2025 – The Narendra Modi Stadium was buzzing yesterday as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) delivered a cricketing masterclass, defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) by a massive 83 runs in a sensational IPL 2025 encounter. The star of the show was undoubtedly young sensation Dewald Brevis, whose explosive unbeaten fifty earned him the Player of the Match award.
CSK, opting to bat first, put on an absolute batting spectacle, posting a formidable total of 230 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Openers Ayush Mhatre (34 off 17) and Devon Conway (52 off 35) got them off to a flying start, laying a solid foundation. Urvil Patel then continued the onslaught with a quickfire 37 off 19 deliveries. However, it was the fireworks from Dewald Brevis, who smashed an incredible 57 not out off just 23 balls (4 fours, 5 sixes), along with a handy 21 not out from Ravindra Jadeja, that propelled CSK past the 220-mark.
GT's bowlers struggled to contain the yellow brigade's assault. While Prasidh Krishna (2/22) and Rashid Khan (1/42) managed to pick up a couple of wickets, the likes of Siraj and Arshad Khan proved expensive.
Chasing a daunting 231, Gujarat Titans' innings never really took off. Despite a valiant 41 off 28 balls from Sai Sudharsan, and some late resistance from Arshad Khan (20 off 14) and Shahrukh Khan (19 off 15), the GT batting line-up crumbled under pressure. Captain Shubman Gill's early dismissal for 13 set a concerning tone, and the quick wickets that followed left them reeling.
CSK's bowlers showcased exceptional discipline and skill. Ravindra Jadeja (2/17) and Khaleel Ahmed (1/17) were economical and effective, but it was Anshul Kamboj who truly ripped through the GT middle order, snaring an impressive 3 wickets for just 13 runs in his 2.3 overs. Noor Ahmad also chipped in with three crucial wickets, while Matheesha Pathirana and Deepak Hooda picked up one each. GT were eventually bundled out for just 147 in 18.3 overs, a comprehensive victory for the Super Kings.
This dominant performance by CSK will surely send a strong message to other teams in the tournament. With their top-order firing and bowlers hitting their strides, the Men in Yellow look like serious contenders for the IPL 2025 title, but already eliminated😭.For Gujarat Titans, it's back to the drawing board as they look to regroup after this significant defeat.
