Captain Harmanpreet Kaur's sensational century (102 off 84 balls) propelled India to a formidable 318-5. England's chase was valiant, led by Nat Sciver-Brunt's magnificent 98, but a phenomenal six-wicket haul from Kranti Goud (6-52) sealed the historic victory for the visitors.

Guwahati,Assam – July 22, 2025: The Riverside Ground witnessed a true cricketing spectacle yesterday as India Women secured a thrilling 13-run victory over England in the decisive third One-Day International, ensuring a memorable 2-1 series lost on their tour of England. The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, dominated by two exceptional individual performances: a captain's knock from India's Harmanpreet Kaur and a sensational bowling display by young Kranti Goud.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, India posted a challenging total of 318 for 5 in their allotted 50 overs. While Pratika Rawal (26) and Smriti Mandhana (45) provided a steady start, it was the partnership between Harleen Deol (45) and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur that truly set the stage. Kaur, in particular, was in a league of her own, smashing a magnificent 102 runs off just 84 deliveries, including 14 boundaries. She was ably supported by Jemimah Rodrigues, who marked her 50th ODI with a brisk 50 off 45 balls. A late flourish from Richa Ghosh, who blazed an unbeaten 38 off just 18 balls with three fours and two sixes, ensured India crossed the 300-run mark, leaving England with a daunting target. England's bowlers toiled hard, with Sophie Ecclestone being the most economical (1-28), while Lauren Bell, Lauren Filer, Charlie Dean, and Linsey Smith each picked up a solitary wicket.

In response, England's chase was nothing short of heroic. Despite early setbacks, losing both Amy Jones (4) and Tammy Beaumont (2) cheaply to Kranti Goud, skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt and Emma Lamb steadied the ship. Lamb contributed a vital 68 off 81 balls, but it was Sciver-Brunt who truly anchored the innings, playing a captain's knock of 98 runs from 105 deliveries, narrowly missing out on a well-deserved century. Their monumental 162-run partnership for the third wicket resurrected England's hopes and kept the crowd on the edge of their seats.

However, the turning point came with the reintroduction of Kranti Goud. The young Indian pacer was simply unplayable, tearing through the English middle and lower order. After dismissing both openers, Goud returned to remove the dangerous Alice Davidson Richards (44), Charlotte Dean (21), Lauren Filer (0), and finally Lauren Bell (7), completing a sensational six-wicket haul for just 52 runs in her 9.5 overs. This incredible spell, the best by an Indian bowler against England, proved to be the decisive factor. Despite a late cameo from Linsey Smith (14*), England ultimately fell short, bowled out for 305 in 49.5 overs.

The match was a testament to the attacking brand of cricket played by both sides. While Sciver-Brunt's valiant effort kept England in the hunt, Harmanpreet Kaur's sheer dominance with the bat, combined with Kranti Goud's match-winning bowling, sealed a memorable must-win victory for India. The Riverside Ground was treated to a classic encounter, reminding everyone why women's cricket continues to captivate audiences worldwide.(source-cricbuzz)
