RCB Storm Into IPL 2025 Final, Crush PBKS by 8 Wickets in Mohali Thriller

RCB stormed into the IPL 2025 Final with a commanding 8-wicket win over PBKS in the 1st Playoff. A fiery 56 from Philip Salt and a clinical bowling performance led by Hazlewood and Suyash Sharma ensured a one-sided affair in Mohali.

Mohali, May 29, 2025 – Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) delivered a dominating performance in the 1st Playoff of IPL 2025, thrashing Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 8 wickets at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Chandigarh. The win sees RCB book a direct ticket to the IPL 2025 Final, with a fiery batting display led by Philip Salt and a ruthless bowling attack dismantling PBKS for just 101runs.

PBKS Collapse Under Pressure

PBKS's decision to bat first backfired disastrously. Their top-order crumbled early, with only Marcus Stoinis (26 off 17) and Prabhsimran Singh (18 off 10) showing some resistance. RCB bowlers struck at regular intervals, with Josh Hazlewood (3/21) and Suyash Sharma (3/17) leading the charge. PBKS were bowled out for a paltry 101 in 14.1 overs, never really recovering from the early blows.

Salt Sizzles in the Chase

Chasing 102, RCB wasted no time. Philip Salt was in beast mode, hammering an unbeaten 56 off just 27 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes. He was ably supported by Mayank Agarwal (19 off 13) and skipper *Rajat Patidar (15 off 8)*. RCB chased down the target in just 10 overs, showcasing their fierce intent and form.

Bowling Brilliance

RCB’s bowling unit set the tone with tight lines, sharp pace, and spin traps. Hazlewood, Suyash, and Yash Dayal (2/26) ensured that PBKS never got going. Even RCB's part-time bowlers contributed to the momentum, keeping PBKS under the pump throughout.
