Marsh and Pooran Unleash Carnage
Opting to bat first, LSG's innings was built on the back of a sensational display by Mitchell Marsh. The hard-hitting Australian all-rounder smashed a magnificent 117 runs off just 64 balls, decorated with 10 fours and 8 towering sixes. He provided a solid foundation alongside Aiden Markram (36 off 24 balls), who contributed with a brisk start.
However, it was the explosive Nicholas Pooran who truly ignited the scoring in the latter half of the innings. Coming in after Marsh's departure, Pooran unleashed a furious assault, remaining unbeaten on a stunning 56 runs from a mere 27 deliveries, including 4 fours and 5 sixes. Captain Rishabh Pant also chipped in with a quickfire 16 not out off 6 balls, ensuring LSG finished with a massive 235/2 in their allotted 20 overs.

Chasing a daunting target of 236, Gujarat Titans started aggressively but lost wickets at crucial junctures. Sai Sudharsan (21 off 16) and captain Shubman Gill (35 off 20) got starts, but couldn't convert them into big scores. Jos Buttler's quick 33 off 18 balls kept GT in the hunt, but the middle order faced a stern test.
The charge was then led by Sherfane Rutherford (38 off 22) and Shahrukh Khan, who played a brilliant innings of 57 off just 29 balls, attempting to resurrect the chase. Their partnership gave GT a glimmer of hope, but the LSG bowlers held their nerve under pressure.
LSG Bowlers Clinch the Win
LSG's bowling attack, despite the high-scoring nature of the game, delivered when it mattered. Will O'Rourke was the pick of the bowlers, bagging 3 wickets for just 27 runs in his 4 overs, including the crucial dismissals of Sudharsan, Rutherford, and Rahul Tewatia. Avesh Khan picked up two important wickets, while Akash Maharaj Singh, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Ayush Badoni chipped in with one wicket each. Ayush Badoni notably wrapped up the innings with two late wickets, ensuring GT was restricted to 202/9 in their 20 overs.
This comprehensive 33-run victory will undoubtedly boost LSG's confidence as they continue their campaign, while Gujarat Titans will look to regroup and analyze their bowling strategy for future matches.
