Harleen Deol’s Redemption Masterclass: UP Warriorz Crush Mumbai Indians by 7 Wickets in WPL 2026

Summary: Harleen Deol’s breathtaking 64 off 39 balls* powered the UP Warriorz to their first win of WPL 2026, chasing down 162 against Mumbai Indians with ease. Despite a valiant 65 from Nat Sciver-Brunt, the Warriorz clinical finish moved them up the momentum ladder.
The Turning Point: Harleen Deol and Chloe Tryon Dismantle the MI Bowling Attack
After a shaky start to the season, the UP Warriorz (UPW) finally found their hero in Harleen Deol. Chasing a target of 162 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, UPW looked in trouble after losing Meg Lanning and Kiran Navgire early.
However, Harleen Deol played the innings of her life. Her 64 runs* were laced with 12 boundaries, showcasing a strike rate of 164.10. She found the perfect partner in Chloe Tryon, who hammered a quickfire 27 off 11 balls* (including 4 fours and 1 six) to wrap up the match in just 18.1 overs.
Mumbai Indians Innings: Nat Sciver-Brunt’s 65 in Vain
Earlier in the evening, Mumbai Indians (MI) struggled to get going in the Powerplay, managing only 32 runs. Nat Sciver-Brunt was the lone warrior for the defending champions, scoring a brilliant 65 off 43 balls.
While Amanjot Kaur (38) and Nicola Carey (32)* provided much-needed support to lift the total to 161/5, the MI bowlers had no answer for the onslaught from the Warriorz middle order. Sophie Ecclestone and Deepti Sharma remained the pick of the bowlers for UPW, keeping the economy under check.
WPL 2026 Points Table: Where Do UP Warriorz Stand?
Despite this massive victory, the Warriorz still have work to do. They currently sit at the 5th position due to their net run rate, but this win has blown the race for the Top 3 wide open.
