India Women Make History: Dominate England in Thrilling T20I Series Victory!

In a landmark achievement, the Indian Women's cricket team has etched their name in history, clinching their first-ever T20I series victory against England on English soil. Their dominant performance culminated in a convincing six-wicket win in the 4th T20I at Emirates Old Trafford, sealing the series 3-1.

Historic Triumph: India Women Conquer England in T20I Series

The cheers at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, yesterday echoed a significant moment in women's cricket as the Indian team celebrated a monumental achievement. In the 4th T20I of the India Women's tour of England 2025, the visitors showcased exceptional skill and determination to secure a six-wicket victory, ultimately clinching the series 3-1. This marks the first time in history that India Women have won a T20I series against England in their own backyard – a truly remarkable feat!

England, winning the toss, elected to bat first but found themselves challenged by a disciplined Indian bowling attack. Despite contributions from Sophia Dunkley (22) and captain Beaumont (20), England struggled to build significant partnerships. Radha Yadav was the star with the ball for India, delivering an economical spell and picking up two crucial wickets for just 15 runs, earning her the Player of the Match award. Shree Charani also impressed with two wickets, while Amanjot Kaur and Deepti Sharma chipped in with a wicket each, restricting England to a total of 126 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 127 for victory, the Indian batswomen displayed aggressive intent from the outset. The opening pair of Smriti Mandhana (32) and Shafali Verma (31) provided a blistering start, putting England's bowlers under immediate pressure. Shafali Verma, in particular, was in explosive form, striking 6 fours in her quickfire 19-ball innings.

Even after a couple of quick wickets, Jemimah Rodrigues (24 not out) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (26) steadied the ship with a valuable partnership. Amanjot Kaur and Richa Ghosh then provided the finishing touches, with Ghosh's unbeaten 7 off just 4 balls ensuring India crossed the line comfortably with 17 balls to spare.

This series victory is a testament to the hard work, strategic planning, and brilliant execution by the Indian Women's team. It's a defining moment that will undoubtedly inspire a new generation of cricketers and solidify India's position as a formidable force in women's international cricket.(Source-cricbuzz)
