England vs India: Manchester Test Ends in Thrilling Draw, Series Heads for Decisive Finale!

A gutsy batting display from Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja denied England victory in a nail-biting encounter at Old Trafford, setting up a tantalising decider in the five-match series.

After four days of fluctuating fortunes, the 4th Test between England and India at Manchester concluded in a captivating draw, largely thanks to the heroic efforts of India's all-rounders, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja. Their monumental partnership in the second innings effectively shut down England's hopes of clinching the series early.

England, having piled up a mammoth 669 in response to India's first innings total of 358, looked to be in a commanding position. However, the Indian batsmen, particularly in their second innings, showed immense resilience. While early contributions from KL Rahul (a stoic 90) and captain Shubman Gill (a brilliant 103) provided a solid foundation, it was the unbeaten centuries from Washington Sundar (101*) and Ravindra Jadeja (107*) that truly stole the show. Their incredible partnership not only saved the Test but also showcased remarkable temperament and skill under immense pressure.

The English bowlers, despite their best efforts, found it incredibly difficult to break the resolve of Sundar and Jadeja. Chris Woakes and Jofra Archer chipped away with two and one wicket respectively, but the lack of further breakthroughs on the final day meant England had to settle for a draw.

This result means the series stands at 2-1 in favour of England, setting up a truly epic final Test on 31 July at Kennington Oval,London. The cricketing world will now eagerly anticipate the decider, with both teams knowing that everything is on the line. Will England secure the series victory, or can India pull off a remarkable comeback?

The stage is set for a thrilling finale!
