Prabhsimran Singh, and Shreyas Iyer steer PBKS to Comfortable 8 Wickets Win over LSG

Punjab Kings (PBKS) made the Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) fade into oblivion through this win and easily chased down the target of 172 runs with as many as four overs in hand. The blistering start for PBKS in the powerplay through the brilliant innings of 69 runs from Prabhsimran Singh left LSG agnostic, not to be forgotten some desperate try from their bowlers.
Nicholas Pooran's sizzling 44 off 30 balls had at least for some time put LSG in a hopeful mood; however, his dismissal by Yuzvendra Chahal stopped the proceedings. LSG's middle-order continued to ignore wickets at the most crucial times. However, from the quick-fire-47-run partnership of Abdul Samad and Ayush Badoni (21 balls), at least it seemed that LSG was still in the game. But Arshdeep Singh changed the course of the game when he grabbed two vital wickets in the final over, ending the innings with figure of 3/43, leaving LSG stranded at 171/7.
The hosts took no time whatsoever in bringing their nose ahead after that. Prabhsimran Singh in the prime of his form whacked 69 runs only from 34 balls and led the side to a mammoth total of 62/1 after the first set of six overs. The only breakthrough that the Lucknow SuperGiants achieved during that time came when Priyansh Arya was dismissed in the third over by Digvesh Rathi; the moment was soured, however, because it was celebrated in Rathi's now familiar 'celebration'- a cheeky nod towards West Indian Kesrick Williams.
With Prabhsimran's fireworks coming to an end, he stepped debutant Shreyas Iyer to bat. Iyer remained as unflappable as ever and scored another unbeaten 97 runs off 42 balls, which by the way was later followed up by an equally cool 52 not out from just 30 balls in the next match. His partnership with Nehal Wadhera (43 n/o off 25 balls) sealed the deal as they put on an unbroken 67-run stand that took PBKS across the line with ease.
Iyer's composed chase and Prabhsimran's early fireworks ensured PBKS sealed the win in style, leaving LSG with little to cheer about. Thus, PBKS sent a very strong message in the tournament with their awesome victory; the match became a comfort for victory, and the door was all but closed for LSG to stage a comeback.
